Electro-meridian Imaging
A powerful diagnostic tool which provides a graph of
energy measurements from each of the organ systems. |
|
Your treatment plan
is based on your symptoms, constitutional
pattern, and test results.

Treatment
methods may include:
 |
Electro-acupuncture
Electrical
impulses administered through acupuncture needles. Adding
stimulation to the needles enhances the effectiveness of acupuncture
for many conditions. This is especially true for pain relief,
stroke rehabilitation, and other neurological disorders. |
Tui Na massage
Tui-na is an ancient Chinese
therapeutic massage that literally means
"push-grasp". The
technique of Tui-na uses deep pressure, tapping, kneading and holding
to remove blockages along the meridians. Blockage of energy
flow
along a meridian will result in pain. As blockages are
released
the flows of Qi and blood are reestablished. Nutrients are
able
to enter the area, promote healing and relieve muscle pain and
tension. Tui-na usually targets a specific area and may be
used
as an adjunct to acupuncture. Tui-na may also be used to
treat
specific acupuncture points that have a systemic influence on body
functions to release tension, alleviate pain, promote
proper function, health and relaxation. A Tui Na session
usually
includes deep tissue work. A few of the specific techniques are...
|
|
Acupressure
- Deep pressure on trigger points.
|
|
"Rolling” is one
of the Tui Na techniques. |
 |
 |
Guasha – A
scraping action to promote circulation and healing.
|
Cupping
Suction
cups applied to areas of
tension or congestion. This greatly increases local blood
circulation to bring in nutrients and carry away waste
products.

Infrared heat- deep penetrating heat that
promotes circulation and healing. |
Moxibustion
Moxa is the application of heat to
specific areas of the body, traditionally by burning the Chinese herb
ai ye (artemesia vulgaris or Chinese mugwort) or by using a heat lamp
and a Menueical spray. Moxa is effective in treating such
conditions as debilitation, diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain,
arthritis and painful extremities. More than simply the
application of heat, the warming effects of moxa enhance the proper
flow of Qi (energy) and blood, balance the internal organs, and
increase mobility of muscles and joints. |

Auriculotherapy
Auriculotherapy is the stimulation of
ear points to correct imbalance that results in mental, emotional and
/or physical signs and symptoms. It may be used
alone or as part of a
comprehensive treatment plan. The auricle serves as a
micro system or
representation of the body. Specific points on the ear
represent
specific organs and structures that affect healing when stimulated with
pressure, acupuncture or electro stimulation. Almost all
health
conditions can be affected to some degree by stimulating reactive ear
points. The most commonly reported uses of Auriculotherapy have been
for the control of chronic pain, withdrawal from addictive substances,
relief of nausea, reduction of hypertension, stress management, and
insomnia. |
Exercise - Tai ji and Qi gong
Exercises that
build
body energy and strength. Medical qi gong involves breathing
exercises combined with meditation and physical training. It
is
most effective at preventing disease, and treating chronic conditions
or disabilities Tai ji is one category of Qi gong in which movements
are
connected in a specific order creating a meditative, fluid, low stress
exercise that improves flexibility, health and balance.

Food therapy
Food
therapy provides a daily
powerful tool for maintaining health or correcting
disharmonies.
A balanced diet is determined on an individual basis. Once
the
Acupuncture Physician determines the nature of your imbalance, foods
may be chosen to help improve an organ’s function, eliminate
accumulations, supplement fluids or energy needs. A person
who is
Yang deficient tends to have low energy and is easily cold.
Foods
are chosen that increase energy and warmth. On the other
hand, a
person who is Yin deficient tends to be dry, thirsty and have flashes
of heat with sweating. Foods are chosen with cool, moistening
energy.
